Chapter 23: Spring Break
Jace
Spring break. Harper is with Jace’s mom.
And Jace is WEAK.
**Jace:** One week. Technically you’re not her teacher for one week. Please.
**Sienna:** Jace, we’ve come so far. Two more months.
**Jace:** I know. But I need you. Just for this week. Please.
Long pause.
**Sienna:** Where?
They spend the entire week together.
His place. Her place. Doesn’t matter.
They cook together. Watch movies. TALK. Touch. Finally, FINALLY touch.
Saturday night, it happens.
They’re on his couch. Kissing. Can’t stop.
“We shouldn’t,” Sienna breathes.
“I know.”
“Just two more months—”
“I don’t care. I need you. Now.”
This time, she doesn’t stop him.
They make love. Finally. After MONTHS of waiting.
It’s desperate. Perfect. EVERYTHING.
After, lying in his bed, Sienna whispers: “I love you.”
“I love you too. Always have.”
“Two more months and we can do this for real. No hiding.”
“I can’t wait.”
They spend the rest of the week in a bubble. Pretending they’re a normal couple. Pretending this can last.
But Monday comes.
Reality returns.
And someone saw them.
